Anthony David Gonzalez played American football for 17 seasons, as tight-ends within the National Football League. Gonzalez is considered to be among the greatest tight ends in history. Gonzalez was released by the Falcons on March 15, 2013 for a contract that was worth 14 million dollars over two years, in spite of his claims that he was retiring at the end of the season. Randy Moss retired in 2013, and Gonzalez aged 37 at the time, was able to finish the final year of his professional career in the position of being the NFL leader for receiving yards.
